goodwood breakfast club
pre 1980 sports & classic
august 2008
I do it every time. Have an enjoyable run down on the quiet Sunday morning roads, arrive hungry, head for the breakfast tent, order a full breakfast and pass out when they give me the bill.
Despite the poor weather, there was a good turn out. Enough Pre-80's metal to walk around and enjoy, yet few enough viewing public that you could see the cars without fighting the crowds. To add to this enjoyment, the 308 qualified for this months theme, so I found myself in pride of place along the main straight.
Hampered by wet roads, persistent drizzle and a few "newbies" on the run down, the pace was very relaxed, which made for a nice change. Not only did I use half the fuel I normally do on these occasions, but took the opportunity to soak up the the beautiful English countryside and the magical sound of the V8 air sucking into the quad carb set up over my right shoulder. Its what Sunday mornings are all about!
